Glanz und Grauen Exhibition Ratingen
If your in the area we highly recommand to visit the “Glanz und Grauen” exhibition in Ratingen. They have three floors of original vintage clothing, shoes, accessories, magazines and information about fashion, politics and everyday life from the 1920s to 40s. The focus is mainly on regular day wear and evening wear of the leading ladies, luckily the uniforms were only a small part of the collection. You´ll learn about fabrics and details and how to recycle and repair old items and you can read about how politics influence the fashion in Germany at the time.
